Have you ever admired the spectacular Golden Rain Tree 🌳(Koelreuteria paniculata) in the Park Circle Butterfly Garden and wondered where to find one for your own yard? Now is your chance!
During the past few months of social distancing, we have found many small Golden Rain Trees (approximately 1' tall each) that have planted themselves among our gardens in North Charleston. While we love this particular species, these trees will not survive in the locations where they have decided to grow.
Over the next few weeks, we will be digging up these "volunteer" trees and making them available free to loving homes. Now is the time to do your research and decide if you would like one for your own yard.
These trees should be planted in open areas where you can easily mow any seedlings that sprout from falling seeds. Otherwise, it can be very invasive to any garden areas.
When we have the trees available, we will make a follow-up Facebook post sharing information and social distancing guidelines for pickup. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details over the next few weeks. (Make sure you have "liked" and are "following" our page so that you don't miss any of our posts!) ... I am interested in one
Tara Beadle Hebert are you interested? I can probably get you one next week. Let me know.

Important information from Keep America Beautiful. Please stay safe, everyone!
Due to reports from global health services that the coronavirus (COVID-19) can live on surfaces for an extended period of time, such as up 24 hours on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic, we are advising everyone against picking up litter, in groups or individually, until further notice. Our primary concern and priority is the health and safety of our affiliate network, volunteers, and all Americans. #SafetyIsBeautifulDue to reports from global health services that the coronavirus (COVID-19) can live on surfaces for an extended period of time, such as up 24 hours on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic, we are advising everyone against picking up litter, in groups or individually, until further notice.
