We were very excited to receive this package of much-needed bandaging and splinting material and essential medicine we utilize to treat ectoparasite infestations. Thank you!
If you are able, please consider purchasing an item off of our Amazon Wishlist:
It’s a great way to be able to support the work we do here at the Avian Conservation Center and Center for Birds of Prey. Items include spray bottles, hoses, and hose nozzles for cleaning our enclosures, radios for communication between staff and volunteers across our large campus, as well as incubators and essential medical equipment needed to care for our patients.
We have items to fit any budget, and any donations are appreciated. Some of our most pressing needs are bandaging materials, such as Telfa non-adherent dressing, 3x3 gauze pads, and trifectant.
Especially in this time of social distance, we are exceedingly grateful for the community we have in our supporters. We could not do this work without you!

Meals for

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston
81 Gadsden St, Charleston, SC 29401

Due to current conditions, we are only able to serve the most critical of pediatric cases at MUSC Children’s Hospital, which means our number of guests is far fewer than normal; at this time, we only need 6 meals a night- a stark contrast from the typical 60!
Weekends are the most difficult meals to fill, so I’ve created a SignUp Genius (link below). RMHC Charleston is deeply committed to serving our community, so if you would like to provide a meal on one of the suggested dates, please consider using a local restaurant, especially in light of the most recent downtown Charleston events. Here are the specifications for having food delivered to the House in order to keep everyone safe:
- All meals must be in individual “To Go” containers; groups will need to order 6 individual meals
- Food should be delivered at approximately 5:30 pm for dinner at 6:00 pm
- Hot meals should be delivered closer to 6:00 pm if possible
- Your group is in charge of signing up, contacting the restaurant, ordering, paying for the meal, and delivery to the House. This will be recorded just like your Volunteer Time when you cook at the House and included on your end-of-year tax statements.
- Dinners right now are running between $80 to $120
- If the restaurant you use doesn’t deliver but offers to take out, you are more than welcome to pick it up and drop it off at Guest Services….we’d love to see your smiling faces!!
- If you have food delivered, we would love for you to share your generosity on social media and tag RMHC CharlestonJ
- We do not have any guests with specific dietary needs
- All food deliveries will come to 81 Gadsden St, Charleston, SC 29401, and must be delivered to the “back” door on the side of the House opposite Calhoun St.
- Please follow all safety and health protocols when delivering, follow social distancing, and wear a mask
Please consider this option, as it helps us to stay more connected and involved with you, and our families are so appreciative of your kindness. Click on the link below to sign up, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.
Contact Abby at [email protected] with any questions!

COVID-19 has altered things for all types of businesses, but what hasn’t changed is the need for medical care for injured wild birds so business in our Avian Medical Clinic continues as usual. In fact, yesterday we admitted 16 raptors transferred from
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue, one of a few fellow wildlife organizations that have continued to accept new patients. Because of these transfers, we reached a new admit record in the clinic - the most birds admitted in one day!
Though things are more than difficult for all organizations who are continuing to care for injured and orphaned wildlife right now, the challenges we are facing have also highlighted the ways in which organizations can help support and aid each other. It is imperative that we do what we can for each other so we can all continue to do what is best for the birds and wildlife in need.
We often mention how important our community is to this work, and this situation is a great example of how expansive and generous this community can be! You can easily support this important work by donating on Palmetto Giving Day.
One80 Place has an urgent need for take out containers as we work to combat COVID-19 the best way possible for our clients and staff!
