Camp dates might be affected by COVID-19
As the world continues to watch the effects of the pandemic COVID-19, otherwise known as
Coronavirus, we wanted to reach out to our Camp Happy Days (CHD) family and provide a
brief update on the status of our programs and events.
It is not lost on us that we have the privilege and responsibility of partnering with the children
and families that are amongst the ones that are at highest risk for having complications due to
COVID-19. That said, we want you to know that our number one priority is the health of the
children and families that we serve. This means that we will do whatever is in our ability to
keep you healthy and safe during this time of uncertainty.
In order to do this, we as a staff continue to refer to the World Health Organization and the
Center for Disease Control and Prevention for guidance and recommendations as the
coronavirus situation evolves. We are following the ever evolving recommendations of the
Medical University of South Carolina, Centers for Disease Control, the World Health
Organization, and the South Carolina Department of Health as we make decisions regarding
your children and families.
All that said, depending on how the overall situation unfolds, it may become necessary to take
more drastic measures to limit person-to-person contact at CHD (e.g. postponing
camper/family programs and/or events). We are asking each of you to begin planning for this
possibility now and during the next few weeks. As of right now, we are planning to have
camp as scheduled the week of June 28-July 4.
